A Local Favorite You’ll Want to Visit Again and Again

Thinking about moving to Taylors, South Carolina? One of the best ways to get to know a community is through its food—and The Farehouse is a local gem that truly brings people together. Located in the historic Taylors Mill, this cozy spot offers great food, cool drinks, and a warm atmosphere. Whether you're new to the area or just visiting, The Farehouse is a place where you’ll feel right at home.

The Story Behind The Farehouse

The Farehouse is more than just a restaurant—it’s part of the heart of Taylors. Owners Michael Marut and Cristy Biles moved to Taylors in 2015 with a dream. By 2016, they set their sights on opening a restaurant inside Taylors Mill. Their goal? To build a space where people could connect over inventive meals and great cocktails.

Now located in Dock No. 3 of the historic Taylors Mill, The Farehouse is helping breathe new life into a building that was once part of South Carolina’s booming textile industry. This mill is one of the largest grassroots redevelopment projects in the state. And thanks to places like The Farehouse, it’s now a hub for creativity, community, and great dining.

What’s on the Menu?

The Farehouse serves up bold, creative dishes with something for everyone—from comfort food lovers to picky eaters. Whether you're here for lunch, dinner, or a weekend brunch, you’ll find favorites that keep people coming back.

Local Favorites:

  • The Smoke Stack Pizza: Smoked chicken, applewood bacon, mushrooms, and red onions on a pesto base—finished with a balsamic drizzle.
  • Taylors Station Pizza: A meat lover’s dream featuring pepperoni, salami, Italian sausage, and veggies on a classic marinara base.
  • Smoked Wings: Served with house-made sauces like Ranch, FareHot, or Green Goddess—these wings are a fan favorite.

Sandwich Standouts:

  • Buffalo Chicken Hoagie: Smoked chicken with red onion, bleu cheese, mozzarella, ranch, and a spicy FareHot drizzle.
  • Italian Sandwich: Stacked with salami, pepperoni, prosciutto, ham, mozzarella, and arugula on a hoagie roll.

Fresh and Flavorful:

  • Farehouse Salad: Mixed greens with fresh veggies, peas, and tomatoes—topped with house vinaigrette. Add chicken, shrimp, or salmon for protein.

Dinner Specials (After 5 PM):

  • Shrimp N Grits: Blackened shrimp over cheesy grits, finished with a smoky tomato and tasso ham jus.
  • Creamy Chicken Marsala: Breaded chicken with mushrooms and peas in a rich Marsala sauce, served over pasta.

Save Room for Dessert:

  • Peanut Butter Pie: A sweet treat that “tastes like Snickers.”
  • Ooey-Gooey Cinnamon Roll (Brunch): Big, soft, and topped with smoked pecan bourbon glaze—perfect for Sunday mornings.
